vSphere client, VMware host client and vCenter server management interface

 

vSphere Client   is the nice looking web interface GUI for managing both vCenter and Exsi host. Keyword ( vCenter and Exsi host ) , on the same interface you also manage the virtual switch, datastore and  Vms. vSphere client used to be a desktop client app with version 6.0 and earlier, version 6.0U2 the client was fully web based HTML5 and the url to access the client is :  https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn/ui


VMware Host Client  is also a HTML5web based client that used to manage a single host, Keyword ( Single host management ) , multiple host management use the vSphere client and you cannot manage the vcenter server using the VMware host client. this client also manages the Vms, network and storage, access the host client using this url  : http://host_name_or_host_IP_address/ui


vCenter Server management interface

abbreviated as ( VAMI ) , is a administrative tool for the vcenter server ( VCSA ). some basic administrative task include : applying updates to the VCSA, backups, SSH Access control, NTP configuration and monitoring. this client or interface uses port 5480 to differentiate from other client you must use the port number at the end of the Url to access the VAMI.
